GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (September 13, 2010) – Ruby Canyon Engineering (RCE), an engineering consulting company whose main focus is greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, has teamed with environmental and energy experts Eastern Research Group (ERG), to support the U.S. EPA’s Coalbed Methane Outreach Program (CMOP) for the next five years.
The complete contract awarded to three prime contractors is a 5-year, $17 million contract to provide technical, analytical and communications support to CMOP. The objective of the program is to reduce methane emissions from coal mines domestically and abroad. The project will also result in identifying and implementing methods to recover and use coal mine methane as a clean-burning fuel source.
