Lu Tao Mr. Lu Tao received his B.A degree in Law in China Shantou University in 2002. He worked for four years for a leading investment company focusing on development of and investment in wind power projects in China. His major responsibilities were wind power project development and the Clean Development Mechanism project development. As a result, Mr. Lu has an excellent understanding of the Kyoto Protocol, the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) rules in particular. He has been working on a broad range of CDM projects since 2003 and has acquired rich experiences in project baseline study, project evaluation, Project Design Document (PDD) development, and emission reductions commercialization. His experiences extend into several carbon project sectors, including renewable energy, energy efficiency, and coal mine methane projects.
For the past two years, Mr. Lu worked as Business Development Director, China for MGM International Group LLC. He identified, evaluated and developed dozens of CDM projects and voluntary emission reductions projects, and successfully closed those projects with emission reduction purchase agreements (ERPA or VERPA). Mr. Lu joined Ruby Canyon Engineering in June 2008; he is responsible for the business development of Chinese energy projects and the heads the China operations. With extensive background in Chinese business, CDM projects, and the China’s energy markets, Mr. Lu provides comprehensive carbon project experience and solutions to clients.
