Collon Kennedy IIICollon Kennedy has worked in the private practice of law and served as an attorney and senior executive with major domestic energy and mining companies. He has managed project acquisition, permitting, development and regulatory compliance programs for oil, gas, mineral exploration and landfill projects in the United States and Canada. Under his direction, Peabody Natural Gas developed the first coal mine methane emissions reduction project to be registered under the Voluntary Carbon Standard for a surface coal mine in Wyoming’s Powder Rive Basin. Since 2008, Collon has worked with Ruby Canyon Engineering on coal mine methane emission reduction projects in the United States and China.
Collon and Michael Coté, President of Ruby Canyon Engineering, have co-authored several white papers on coal mine methane ownership and emission reduction project development for U.S. EPA’s Coal Mine Methane Outreach Program: Coal Mine Methane: The True Unconventional Gas - A Survey of Issues Concerning Ownership, Control, and Development of Emission Reduction Projects (2010) and Financial and Regulatory Incentives for Coal Mine Methane Recovery Projects (2011). Collon graduated from the University of Notre Dame Law School and is licensed to practice law in Colorado.
